William D. Moore was a member of the Harvard College Class of 1985 and received his AB in 1986. He married Charlotte Emans in 1991; they had one child. While pursuing a PhD from Boston University, which he received in 1999, Moore was the Director of the Livingston Masonic Library in New York City. From 1999-2001, he was the Executive Director of the Enfield Shaker Museum in Enfield, New Hampshire. In 2001, Moore began teaching history at the University of North Carolina in Wilmington.
